Ranthambore National Park

I am back tracking since we didn't have internet that worked well on the train.
Last Friday, November 7th our first stop aboard the Palace on Wheels was at the Ranthambore National Park. We had to be ready to go at 6am. We were greeted at the station by open air safari buses. We felt like we were at Disney's Animal Kingdom! There are 52 tigers that live here and other animals. The goal of course to see a tiger…

Walking to our open air safari bus

 Our guide…hubba hubba!

 We saw lots of monkeys!

 We saw several tiger footprints!

There is an old fort that sits high above the Reserve

 We saw lots of peacocks

 Parrots too!

An old hunting lodge on the lake, such beautiful surroundings

A lazy crocodile in the lake

A beautiful buck posed for me!

We were covered in dust being in the open air bus

 Spotted deer

 More monkeys!

Cows in the road on the way back to the train…

Just a camel and cart walking down the road

Lots of men getting shaves and haircuts on the side of the road here. India is supposed to be the cheapest place to get a haircut…about 50 cents! We didn't try it

 Beautiful saris everywhere

Just another cow in the road

After the unsuccessful tiger spotting safari, we headed back to the train for breakfast. We may not have seen a tiger, but we saw some other animals and some beautiful scenery.
On to Chittaugarh.
