Chittaugarh, India

After breakfast and lunch on board on Friday we arrived in Chittaugarh. The train rocks from side to side when it moves. It is not very smooth…You would not believe the amazing sites you see out the window while traveling from place to place. We pass lots of little villages. We pass lots of farms. Usually there is only one person working in a field, but sometimes groups of three or four. It is so amazing to see a brown field then a lady in a beautiful colored sari working. The men either wear the white Gandhi looking outfit or more western clothes, like a shirt and pants. This is an amazing country.

Chittaugarh Fort was the first fort we visited. Most large towns have a fort. Each fort has a palace. By the end of the trip we joked about how many forts and palaces we had seen. Although, they were all very beautiful, very unique and each very different from each other.
5,000 people still live within the walls of this fort, including our beautiful tour guide.

Ladies selling things along the walk

 A temple at Chittaugarh Fort

 More wild pigs

I believe they said this was a victory tower

Our beautiful guide. She married a man who lived at the fort, so she lives there now. It's a real honor to live within the fort's walls

There are temples everywhere all over India. We learned there are more temples than schools. A flag flying shows a temple is active.

 Beautiful carvings

 Precious children everywhere

 More monkeys just roaming around

A tiny baby…either too young to have hair, or maybe it's the mange!

The back of her beautiful sari. I loved the aplique of the fabric that matched her shirt

There are lots of children who are beggars. these were selling little postcards they had drawn.

My favorite photo so far of the sun setting…

We stayed for the sound and light show that told the history of Chittorgarh.

After the show, it was back on board. We would be in Udaipur tomorrow…The Lake City.
